Gas Monitoring

NEROXIS offers development and production of custom and standard integrated sensors and modules in the field of gas detection, pressure measurement and leakage control.

Gas monitors have two tasks:

  • To detect the gas or vapor being monitored
  • To give an alarm

For customers selecting a gas monitor, Neroxis takes into account six key customer criteria:

  • Simplicity
  • Reliability
  • Ease of maintenance
  • Portability
  • Robustness
  • Cost of ownership

Micro Thermal Conductivity Sensor

Neroxis thermal conductivity sensors (MTCS) are batch manufactured using MEMS micromachined silicon technologies. Such an approach guaranties a high reproducibility of the device resistances used both for measurement and thermal compensation. The physical principle of measurement facilitates the creation of a stable device with an excellent MTBF (>30'000hs).

MCTS are employed in the field of gas detection and primary vacuum measurement (Pirani principle - see below). Such sensors are also used to evaluate leakage in closed systems (examples: prevention of corrosion effect, control of system integrity). High thermal scanning rates (>5 Kelvin / sec) with cycling frequency up to 15 Hz also offer opportunities in gas discrimination based on two parameter measurements

(>5 Kelvin / sec>5 Kelvin / ms) with cycling frequency up to 15 Hz also offer opportunities in gas discrimination based on two parameter measurements .lesquels ? (conductivity and diffusivity)

Modules based on the MTCS Technology

Neroxis modules facilitate ease of use of MTCS sensors. For gas detection, Neroxis offers calibrated and compensated modules which can be directly plugged into OEM equipment. The vacuum sensing module is based on a constant excess temperature principle compatible with a large pressure measurement range. Such sensors and modules are particularly suitable for portable and hand held instruments.
